CONCRETE AND CLAY ROOFS
Restore Concrete Tiles
Mossboss is applied to the roof and left for at least 24 hours to kill any moss, fungus and lichen, and to prevent regrowth. It is effective, environmentally friendly and biodegradable.
The roof is then water blasted to thoroughly clean it and to remove any loose, flaking or cracked paint.
Any broken or cracked tiles are replaced, and mortar work can be performed to repair loose ridges. Next, a protective base coat is applied, then a further double-layer coat of fast-drying, pure acrylic roof paint in your choice of colour.
Moss-proofing Clay Roofs Prevents Damage
Natural clay roofs don’t fade, so they don’t need painting. But they can still suffer ongoing damage from unsightly moss, lichen and fungus.
Mossboss kills any moss or fungal growth and inhibits new growth. The water-blasting process then rids your roof of all dead moss and dirt. Any necessary repairs can then be carried out to restore your roof to top condition. To keep moss at bay we recommend a roof clean every two years.
METAL AND STEEL ROOFS
Transform Stone-Coated Roofs
Mossboss applied to the roof and left for at least 24 hours to kill any moss, fungus and lichen, and to prevent regrowth. It is effective, environmentally friendly and biodegradable. Any split tiles are replaced. The old metal tiles had a bituminous base coat so, to ensure good paint adhesion, a specially developed bituminous and acrylic primer is applied first, followed by a topcoat of elastomeric paint mixed with stone chips. This coating provides long-lasting flexibility, adhesion and exterior durability.
Other companies apply the paint and then hand feed the chips. But we mix the paint and chips, and apply them together to guarantee complete and even coverage. This method is far superior for consistency of finish.
Once the roof is resurfaced, bad dents are removed as far as practical.
Protect Unpainted Galvanised Steel
Mossboss is applied to the roof and left for at least 24 hours to kill any moss, fungus and lichen, and to prevent regrowth. It is effective, environmentally friendly and biodegradable. Repairs can then be carried out, such as replacing badly corroded sheets, re-nailing loose sheets, removing surface rust and pre-priming.
If no corrosion is present, the Metrogard galvanised primer is then applied. Alternatively, any areas of light-red rust will be scrubbed with a stiff-bristled wire bush to remove flaking or loosely adhering rust before being spot-primed with an etch primer.
Metrogard galvanised primer can then be applied, followed by your topcoat colour of choice.
