Ross Roof Group is a New Zealand owned, progressive, metal roof tile manufacturing company that has been established for over 25 years.     Metrotile and Tilcor are two of the metal roof tile brands that Ross Roof Group manufactures.

We are recruiting an experienced, passionate, Shift Maintenance Fitter for our busy Takanini based factory. This is a permanent, competitively paid position, & the successful applicant will be required to work all shifts, and be flexible if necessary due to production demands.  There is also an option available if you want to work permanent nights.

Applicants must be proactive, organised and have an eye for detail, have a high degree of mechanical aptitude and extensive experience with machine maintenance within a factory environment.  We are looking for a Maintenance Fitter that wants to make a difference & would be constantly working with our team to improve every facet of our manufacturing facility.  Experience in presses and tool maintenance would be preferable, but not essential if you have the ability and the right attitude to learn more skills.  The successful applicant will report directly to the Engineering Manager.

You will:

  • be physically fit.
  • be at least trade qualified.
  • have a minimum of 5 years' experience in NZ in a similar role.
  • be fluent in English.
  • have a strong health and safety focus.
  • have good communication skills.
  • have a forklift license (ideally) - although training will be given if required.

Ross Roof Group is a New Zealand family owned progressive metal roof tile company that manufactures the Metrotile and Tilcor brands. Our products are sold within New Zealand and to over 80 countries around the world.  This role fully enhances our vision of providing home owners around the world with a quality roofing product and doing business with them as if they are family.  The quality starts right from the very beginning of the process of manufacturing which you will be an integral part of.

Ross Roof Group is in a constant state of growth at present and as a result we are recruiting an experienced Engineer to join our team, this is a hands-on role and if you don't like to be tied to a desk all day this position is for you. You will be involved in all aspects of the new plant and machinery right from inception through to implementation, with the ability to make a difference.

This role will have two main parts to it, the first being Continuous Improvement. The successful applicant will be deeply involved, working with the operations team to identify, and analyse potential plant improvement projects & then helping with scoping these projects with the engineering team to a successful outcome.

The second part of the role is the hands on actual commissioning of these projects. In this part of the role you will provide a professional commissioning and hand over process of all plant and equipment, by developing and utilising best engineering practices.  

You will need:

  • a high degree of mechanical aptitude and extensive experience with machinery & automation processes including PLCs, HMI, Servos, pneumatics, Hydraulics.         
  • an eye for detail and an analytical thinker with the ability to think outside the box
  • to be proactive and organised
  • a team player  

Competencies and skills required to do the job:

  • Minimum trade qualified engineer with 5 years experience
